Samsung Electronics Co announced that it would launch the third generation of its smartphone Galaxy S on May 3 in London ahead of the summer Olympics. It seems as though the Galaxy S III will be the official device of the 2012 London Olympics. Samsung became the World’s top smartphone maker last year with the strong sales of Galaxy lineups. The firm sold 40 million Galaxy smartphones till the model was released in 2010.
Samsung’s current deal with international Olympic’s committee will end in 2016. It has said that after Beijing’s Olympics their market share has doubled in China.
Galaxy SII launched in April last year did very well in almost all the markets. The Galaxy SIII has a lot of expectations riding on it and the rumoured specifications are good as well. The phone will be powered by Android OS, v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and will feature a 1080p Super AMOLED HD Plus screen. The complete details are in the air but it is rumoured that device will be having a ceramic body with many colors.
